For the second year in a row, I had the privilege of attending the Cycle for Survival event at Equinox gym in downtown Chicago. For those of you unfamiliar with the organization, check it out at www.cycleforsurvival.org.

It’s basically an annual fundraiser to support the research of rare cancers. The founders, Dave and Jennifer Linn, started the foundation after Jen’s first bout with cancer was in remission.

In their first year, 2007, they raised $250,000. Just a few years later, 2011, they’re already over $3.2 million for this past 12 months. The growth has been incredible and little did Jen know, the millions of dollars she would raise in the coming years were going to pay for research on her own treatments to come. She’s been in and out of remission 6 times, and is literally a real, live example of how this money has given people a new chance at life.

It was totally my pleasure to attend since they are doing such a great thing, and since we’ve all been affected by cancer at one point or another. It’s awesome to see them helping so many families across the nation and I wish them all the best going forward!
